Meet Ella – who plays Amy Metcalf in series 4 of The Bay

Thanks to Ella for taking time to answer a few questions for us (via dad Charles)

Please introduce yourself

My name is Ella. I am 11 years old. I live in Huddersfield with my mum, dad, sisters Rosie and Matilda, and my two cats Minnie and Peggy.

Congratulations on getting a part in The Bay! Did you do an audition? What was it like?

Yes, I had to make a video of me acting and talking about myself. It was fun to do.

What did you enjoy most about the filming?

I liked making friends. I really liked Erin (who plays Karen) because she is a good prankster, like me!

How long have you been acting?

I haven’t done much acting before, but I was a sprite in The Tempest on CBeebies when I was six.

How did seeing yourself on TV make you feel?

I felt happy and excited. It was a bit funny!

What subjects do you enjoy at school?

I like all the subjects. Maths is my favourite. I really like shapes and playing maths games.

What hobbies/sports/activities do you enjoy?

I like watching TV, the iPad, reading Beanos and reading books. Right now I am reading ‘Can you see me?’ by Libby Scott and Rebecca Westcott. I love Pick ’n’ Mix at Shabang!. I also go horseriding in the summer.

Who is your hero?

My hero is Jacqueline Wilson. I love her books.

What do you want to do when you’re grown up?

I want to be a police officer and arrest people when they are naughty, like in The Bay.

What are you looking forward to this year?

I’m looking forward to sledging in the snow and building snowmen [it has been snowing this weekend]. I love parks and play gyms, too.

Is there anything else you’d like to say to the readers?

I hope you all have a nice day!
