Our WorkFit programme has partners in many sectors, private and public. We are always happy to have the opportunity to reach out to employers that haven’t heard about the programme or who have yet to consider employing someone who has Down’s syndrome.
On 28 June, we were very happy to be part of an event held online by the Office of Health Improvement and Disparities, the West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership and the Association of Directors of Public Health (ADPH).
Hosted by Rachael, a WorkFit candidate who now works for the Office of Health Improvement and Disparities (read more about Rachel here), the event saw Becki Bateson, one of our Employment Development Officers, speak about the programme and what success looks like, as well as one of our WorkFit partners, GXO, present on their experience.
Over 150 delegates from councils and health authorities across the region attended the event virtually, expertly managed by Rachael, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
