Football fan Rory is raring to go this Euros season.
His mum Kathryn got in touch to tell us about her son’s passion for the beautiful game.
Rory is 6 and has been going to football since he was 3. His dad is a big football fan and played football as a child and into his teens, so we thought we would try and see if Rory took an interest in playing too. I contacted our local Little Kickers group and they were more than happy for his to go and try one of their sessions.
At his first session, he loved it immediately! There were lots of games to make it fun too. As Rory progressed he managed to move up into the next age group and continued to attend the session weekly.
When he reached the age of 5, Rory started to go to a football session run by Midlands Down Syndrome FC. They meet once a month (we wish it was more often). It’s run just by volunteers that spend their Friday evening coaching 3 different age groups. Rory loves this club, especially when the weather is good and they play football outside.
He is looking forward to watching some England games in the Euros!!
