Enjoy a National Trust Membership

You could enjoy a National Trust Membership and take a free companion

Come rain or shine, a membership to the National Trust provides a year of activities and there is something for everyone. From walking around beautiful gardens and gaining gardening tips, to taking in the views and the fresh air, dabbling in photography, investigating stately homes and learning about their history, even taking part in games and art activities or trying your hand at finding your way through a garden maze.

Natty enjoys the National Trust gardens

The National Trust offers a wide range of beautiful houses and gardens to visit throughout the UK, and is committed to providing access for everyone. They are constantly strive to improve their accessible facilities for members. Did you know for example, that members with a disability are entitled to one or two free companion cards as needed?

Juniors aged 0-17 years get a year’s membership for only £12 for example (parking and handbook not included). So if they have a disability, 1 or 2 parents, carers or adult companions go in free.

Down’s Syndrome Association member Natty and her mum have recently been enjoying some days out.

Natty said, ‘I like an ice cream from the tea room after our walk. We see lots of flowers and trees.’

Mum Hayley tells us that Natty likes to borrow walking poles from their local National Trust office. This helps her walk further and provides a focus. ‘Sometimes Natty isn’t keen to walk very far. The poles act as a distraction and the tea room at the end is Natty’s reward.’

Natty says, ‘Fresh air and exercise are good’

So perhaps you can start planning your next visit to a National Trust property near you.
