Join Our Webinar on Alzheimer’s disease in Down’s syndrome

Friday 16 August 2024 | 12 noon – 1pm | Free

Did you know that people who have Down’s syndrome often get Alzheimer’s disease as they get older?

And did you know that a potential treatment is being tested for people who have Down’s syndrome?

To learn more, we warmly invite you to our special webinar, brought to you by the team from the ABATE Study, and presented by Professor Andre Strydom.

Professor Strydom has been working on understanding issues related to Alzheimer’s disease in people who have Down’s syndrome for many years, including how signs may be different from the general population, how to best diagnose the condition in people who have Down’s syndrome, and use of new markers using blood tests to track change over time so that these can be used in clinics and in treatment trials.

He leads the LonDowns and Go-DS21 research programs at King’s College London (KCL).

He runs the NDD clinical trials centre at King’s College London which specialises in conducting treatment trials in people with neurodevelopmental conditions such as Down syndrome
