Our journey with Positive Behavioural Support with Debbie Austin
06 July 2021 | 9:30 – 11:30 am | £10 per person
This webinar is for parents and education practitioners interested in understanding children’s behaviours and how to support behaviour positively.
Debbie is a family carer, her daughter Lucy (12) has a dual diagnosis of Down’s Syndrome and Autism.
In this training Debbie describes how she has successfully used Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) to understand the communication behind Lucy’s behaviours, and as a result has not only seen an increase in Lucy’s happiness and quality of life, but a significant decrease in the behaviours themselves.
Debbie works for the Challenging Behaviour Foundation as a parent co-facilitator for their PBS workshop, and for Mencap as a parent co facilitator delivering the Early Positive Approaches to Support programme (E-PAtS).
Debbie set up an early intervention group Up, Up and Away for children with Down Syndrome, which ran for 4 years, until all the children started school.
Debbie works part time in a Community Learning Disability Team as a Specialist Physiotherapist working with adults who have Learning Disabilities.
This training session is live and unavailable as a recording.
